Statistics for people who (think they) hate statistics / Neil J. Salkind

This book will be relevant for students who are taking E214 module on Statistical Methods for Engineering. If you are facing some difficulties in understanding the concepts for this module, this book will definitely help to clear your doubts and enhance your knowledge on statistics.

The main focus of this book is basic statistics – the fundamental ideas and commonly used techniques to solve problems. With the help of this book, you will be able to organise and make sense of the data that you have collected. And from there, you can then derive the best solution for decision making. However, I find that this book did not tell me much about the F-ratio in an analysis of variance. But it does have adequate coverage on about why and how statistics works and how you can use Excel to work out the solutions.

The Understanding Test (UT) is just around the corner. If you are taking E214 module, you should pick up this book from the library today!
