Learning iPhone programming / Alasdair Allan

Apple is one of the largest technology corporations in the world. Chances either you or someone you know own an iPhone. And if you’ve ever thought about learning how to program and iPhone, this book is for you.

If you are already skillful in C language programming, or you are getting used to object-oriented programming, you can do well with this book. If you are a Mac user, you’ll have an added advantage as the Mac OS X is somewhat relevant to iOS.

The book will require that you to work with Xcode and iPhone SDK. The main framework here is basically Objective-C and Cocoa Touch. The interesting thing about iOS programming is you will not make the program run using keyboard and mouse. Instead you will use other controllers such as multi-touch screens, cameras and sensors (accelerometer, magnetometer, GPS). With a little imagination, you’ll be able to create great games or applications.

Becoming a mobile development programmer is now one of the hottest jobs ever in the ICT are and this could be the book to get you started in this area.
