As a student, having self-esteem would help me achieve success not only in my academic life but also in social life as well. I consider myself as a fairly confident person. However as the saying goes, “there’s always room for improvement – it’s the biggest room in the house”, so I decided to open this book and read it with an open mind.
While I was reading the book, I realised that this book showed me how simple it was to make changes. Taking a step at a time, you could change your negative attitudes and reactions to positive ones by performing little things or having positive ideas that could help you build up your confidence level. I particularly enjoyed reading the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, especially this one by Oscar Wilde – “If you don’t get everything you want, think of the things you don’t get that you don’t want”.
It is important to believe in yourself. However, I think it is even more important to think positively. When life hands you lemon while you crave for strawberry cheesecake, it may be the time to question if you are worthy to get that piece of cheesecake. If you think you are facing tough times, you should pick up the techniques from this book and learn how you can gain more personal power. This book is full of useful and practical ideas, read the whole book, take down the “10 quick reminders to boost your self-confidence”, and you are on your way to achieve personal growth and develop more confidence!
