Microsoft C# Programming for the Absolute Beginner by Andy Harris

Have you ever wondered what you can do with Advanced Programming once you have mastered Java? If you have extra bandwidth and you would like to learn another programming language, you can read this book and be well versed in the codes of a new language.

This book is useful as it follows a system similar to PBL that is adopted by RP. Each chapter sets up a discussion on a particular concept and readers are challenged to create one application. The application gets more difficult as the chapter progresses.

There are step-by-step guides just like the worksheets provided during our daily problem. Readers need not worry even if they are not able to complete the application since there are source codes in the attachment CD. Also, experience in programming is not necessary as it starts with producing the simplest output which is printing out the phrase “Hello World”.

Generally, I am quite amazed by the organization of this book in each problem and the accompanying worksheet that helps to make it easier to follow. In addition there are print screens that enhance understanding. With the help of this book, I have managed to learn C# fully and have even moved on to, Silverlight, windows mobile and C# related development.
