Are you in Diploma in Industrial and Operations Management (DIOM) or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (DSCM)?
Do you wish to know more about Operations Management?
Do you wish to know how companies run their business efficiently?
If your answer is YES to any of the above, here’s a book I want to recommend to you!
“Operations Management: Providing Value in Goods and Services – Third Edition” by James B. Dilworth gives readers a comprehensive knowledge on what Operations Management is by covering several topics across the discipline. I personally find it a good choice for those who wish to have a good introduction to Operations Management, as it covers great breadth and sufficient depth across the topics in Operations Management. The topics covered include forecasting, facility location, independent and dependent inventory management, scheduling and many more.
If you are in DIOM or DSCM, this book covers a number of topics covered in your course of study. The modules include E210 Operations Planning I, E211 Operations Planning II, E212 Facilities Planning and Design, E217 Inventory Management and E218 Manufacturing Planning and Control.
There was a time when this book provided me with a good understanding of inventory management last year. It was mainly because I did not manage to find a good resource from the internet then, so I thought visiting library would be a good choice. I have gained much from this book, and I’m sure you can too!
Whether you are trying to understand the topics for your lesson, or simply for own reading leisure on how companies run their business efficiently using some useful concepts and tools, I am certain that you can benefit from this book! The examples given with actual application in real world will surely give you an enjoyable experience!
